never had problem with ants with sugar stiffener whether I was in IL, OR,TX or UT. It's very convienent, easy & easy to clean up.
The cats go more for the YARN ball dancing across the floor more than the the finished object
The best thing I've found with ALL stiffeners, really soak them good in solution, then gently pat out the  excess then shape & dry..JMHO
