Marrying is easy; it's housework that's hard.

I'm still a novice and have been making little things here and there, so this was the first large project I've tackled. I used Simplicity #2750. It wasn't hard at all, as it was mostly straight sewing, but cutting out all the fabric was time-consuming.

The toile fabric was leftover fabric that my MIL had used to make curtains, so it's pretty sturdy. The interior fabric was some that she had used to make pillows (she gave me a box of scraps last week). I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I only wish it had some pockets or something on the inside. But, I guess I can make a bunch of little pouches to hold all the things that seem to fall to the bottom of my purse. Smiley

You're purse is absolutely gorgeous! I'm a huge fan of toile and I will remember the way you used the stripes to line it. The contrast of stripe plus the red with black really draws the eye.

Can you still manage to sew on a keychain ring (like from the hardware store) onto one of the straps or inside? Then you can hook pouches and other things on with a carabinear (sp?) or tie them onto it.

I often don't  want to take the time to add zippers and pockets and the keychain ring at a high corner works well for me.

Good job!

I'm sure I can do that and even though about that on the way to work this morning. Smiley Thanks for the suggestion and compliment! I'm pretty proud of it.  Grin

That's really pretty. And it looks like it would hold a lot! I love big purses.
