Loved yours so much, I went out and got the book!  Since I think the yarn is too bulky for the design on me, I may use Simply Soft (it's what I can afford, it's soft, and even though it does ball somewhat, it will drape nicely).  What I REALLY like is NaturallyCaron's Country, but it's twice the price.  Oh well, yours is beautiful and an inspiration no matter what I use!

Please post your pics when you are done.  I wanna see how Simply Soft looks with this design, I love to make another one with lighter weight yarns, but now I have so many projects to do, I don't think I will have time to do this cardigan in few months.

I love the Caron's Country Yarns too, if you have coupon from Michaels or AC moore, it won't be too bad.  I usually go there with my husband, so each trip I can get 2 skeins.  It normally takes me few weeks to get all the yarns I need for the project.  But it saves me a lot of $$.

your cardigan looks fantastic - I have been searching all over the internet (and bookshops) for a nice crocheted cardigan, it's quite hard to come by something fashionable and simple, this is perfect...

Thanks!

I know what u mean.  There are a tons of stylish and modern Knitting Pattern Books, so I usually get my books from Japan, coz they have a more modern and cute garment patterns.

But I recently found another book called loop-d-loop crochet, there are some cute and stylish patterns I really like.  You may want to check it out.

thanks

I haven't tried to crochet garment until last month, I always thought it must be very difficult, I didn't think I could do it.  But u know what, it is not that difficult, this is my 4th garment in 1.5 months.

Try some easy pattern.  This one is pretty easy, the pattern is well-written.

Wow, 4 in six weeks?? That's so quick! How long did the cardigan take you? It looks lovely.
I am very new to crochet, in one week I have made a small bear and a hat.

Actually, I haven't been crocheted for 2 years, I just start to crochet in the end of July.

Before that, I only crocheted arimgurmi and home accessories (small containter etc).  Then I found out I am pregnant, so I want to crochet something for my baby, that is how I start to crochet again.  My first 2 garments are baby cardigans.  I never thought that I would be able to crochet garment, it seems too difficult for me.  But after 2 successful cardigans, I found out that it is not that difficult, so I start to crochet simple garments for myself.

I do notice that it took me longer time to do arimgurmi than a garment.

For this cardigan, it took me a little bit over a week.  It is very simple, the most time consuming time is to sew the seams.

If I can crochet garment, I think everyone can do it.
