Is there any special trick to getting the fabric to feed through the printer?

You can also use butcher paper.  You iron the fabric to the waxed side then cut to size and send through the printer.  It doesn't leave residue on you fabric.  You could also buy fabric sheets for your printer.

I got some of the Avery fabric sheets made for printing in your printer too.  They are kind of neat because they have an iron on backing, but waaaaaaaay ridiculously expensive.  The ones I found were like $15 for 5 sheets.  I'll have to try the butcher paper method, thanks for the suggestion.  I mostly only used computer paper because it was easy to make sure it was the right size for the printer this way.

Okay maybe silly question  , did you use ink jet or lazer and are they permanent when dried. Do you need to seal it or heat set it? I live in the NW and can get a bit wet. I would hate for it to bleed.

I used an inkjet printer.  On the instructions from the Avery ink jet printable fabric I bought it says: "If desired, you can hand wash printable fabric with mild detergent.  Before washing, you must wait at least 24 hours until the ink has sufficiently dried and the printed images are waterfast."
So it sounds like to me that they can get wet 24 hours after printing and be fine!  This was my first time using this method though, so I don't really know if this is true.

I love this bag!  Ive wanted to make a bag with a photo on like you have for a while now!  I might try this out sometime
