Anyone interested in a pirate themed swap?

I love everything associated with pirates. It was an instant fascination after the PotC trilogy.  =)

I LOVE pirates.  When I worked in the children's department at Barnes & Noble, I always dressed like a pirate on September 19th, Talk Like a Pirate Day, and if I wasn't working and after I started substitute teaching, I went to my mom's 6th grade class to play Dread Pirate (an awesome, awesome, awesome pirate game.  I drew a huge blackboard size version of the game map, and the kids loved it!  My mom would even bribe them with it to be good for a whole week if she knew I was coming to work in her classroom).

People need to stop suggesting really awesome swap ideas before Christmas!  I'm pretty swamped until after then, I've got a few birthdays, a wedding, plus all my Christmas gifts to work on (not to mention two current swaps that I'm hoping to finish this week).  I know it's a long way away, but if it's after Christmas I'm in for sure, and if not, I guess I'll wait for the next round (honestly though, if this happens, I'll probably be in either way.  I can't resist anything piratey).

I'm so excited to see people interested!! =)

It might be a little while before this gets rolling though. I am just starting a really hard semester and I need to see how everything will work first. Also I want to devote a lot of time to this one if I organize because I have never organized before. If someone else wants to take charge, by all means do, but I will eventually if no one does. Or I can at least co-organize if someone more experienced wants to "show me the ropes" lol. Whatever is fine with me but I know I want to be focused on doing everything right if I organize, which will result in this swap not happening for a little while.

More time is perfect for me, but I will definitely keep an eye out for this one.  Also, pirate kitchen=amazing!  I don't think bf would let me get away with that (he's more of a viking kind of fellow).

I would totally be down for a pirate swap. Captain Hook is my hero. I'm writing a novel about him, so pirates are sort of always on my mind.

Have you read Capt Hook by J.V. Hart?  It's a young adult book that's the story of Captain Hook's childhood, and as far as I know the author planned to do a series of how this boy came to be the notorious Captain Hook (I quit working in the Barnes & Noble children's department a few years ago and now I'm completely put of date on children's literature Sad).  I really enjoyed it, because I've always had a soft spot for old Hook.

Yep. When I decided to start my novel I went out and found every book about the Captain and this is one of them. The funny thing is, the name of the love interest in that book and the love in my interest are almost the same. Without even knowing that book existed at the time.

I was in love with pirates before the PotC movies.  My dream vacation is to the Bahamas, not only for the beautiful scenery, but also for the pirate history.    I make sure my son knows the names of Anne Bonny and Mary Reid.  And the different flags are fascinating...  Yeah, I'm a nerd.

I'd love to join this if I have time later this year, but there's too many good ideas going on right now!  February sounds pretty good.
