It's nothing fancy but I'm proud of myself all the same.

I used single crochet and a really poor choice of thread. Varigated colors was not a wise choice for a first project for me, kind of rough on my eyes.

I don't have anyone local to give me pointers on how to improve so feel free to comment! Smiley





My next project will be a scarf for my mom's Christmas present.

it's lovely.  that's the same yarn i choose for for my first real crochet project, lol. Wink  i agree it was not the best choice.  now when i teach someone else to crochet i recommend they use a light colored, plain yarn so they can see their stitches clearly.

I've taught all kinds of needlework and have never been afraid of using color, but I learned my lesson with crochet. I just bought the thread for my first scarf, a pretty, SOLID teal blue.

Your first project turned out lovely. Don't down play your work. It is very nice and now move on to another project. Keep working on stuff and it gets easier and easier.
