I found this old cigar box in my Grandma's basement and she let me cart it away (along with all the vintage jewelry inside!). After some clean up, and a fresh coat of laquer, I came up with yet another purse.

I thought this piece would be best by itself, so I just added some furniture tacks at the corners, an old leather belt as the handle, and about 50 cents worth of undyed cotton as a lining. It's much more durable than my regular purses, and a great conversation starter Smiley

You're very clever.  You've come up with some great projects.  Well done.

This may not happen, since I have had major surgery on my shoulder.

Love it.  I have several cigar boxes I've saved to make purses out of (although none as large as this one!).  How did you attach the leather strap?

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

Thank you so much, that really means alot. I've been looking into going to design to school, but I get alot of comments about how "weird" my stuff is. Thanks to everyone on here for their support!

I used the same furniture tacks as the corners, and used a hammer to bend in the excess that came through to the inside.

Ahh - I never would have thought of that.  Thanks.
