I have just completed my very first shawl and I think I'm hooked. I used a very easy pattern that I found via Ravelry and it took me a week from start to finish. The only modification that I made was I knit mine using a size 5 needle instead of a size 3 because I wanted to make sure it was big enough. I had this skein of sock yarn in my stash for probably over two years, I had purchased it from Etsy and it is hand dyed in a very pretty pink and green combo. I can't remember what seller I purchased it from, I don't use Etsy anymore cause I'm broke, lol.

Here's a link to the free pattern http://redcorsetdesigns.blogspot.com/2009/05/gabriels-wings.html

Your shawl is sooo pretty.  I love how the sock yarn is vaguely stripey, but not overwhelmingly so.

Thank you. Im really going to get alot of use out of it because I wear short sleeves to school but they have the air conditioning on really high and I need something to wrap around me.

Thank you so much for posting this pattern! I've been looking for a quick and pretty shawl pattern for a Christmas present and this seems PERFECT.

I can't wait to start it!

Thank you for the link! Right now I'm into knitting triangular shawls and wearing them as neckerchiefs. This pattern is just what I needed!

That is just lovely!

I have been wanting to make a shawl. This may be just the pattern for my first shawl endeavor. I can only hope mine would come out as pretty as yours.
