This is my own pattern. I get tired of making clothes sometimes and worrying about whether or not they're going to fit, so I decided to detour and make a one-size-fits-all something. The material is two pairs of thrifted pants, lining is lining from one of those pairs, zippers were thrifted. The piping is just some random cotton fabric I had lying around with some narrow cotton twine. The inside has one zippered pocket.

I thought I interfaced the heck out of this thing, but it seems one can never use enough for a sturdy bag. These photos are taken after several days of bag use on a trip to Vegas with my mom. So, it's been fairly abused, and hasn't held its shape as much as I'd like.

Oh, and the buttons were leftovers from a jacket I made http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=302145.msg3451983#msg3451983

The sort of kidney shaped pieces that are also the straps are also pockets, in case that's not apparent from the photos. The construction was a little tedious and I had to kind of make it up as I went.

Thanks for looking
Amy

Very cool, and very original.  I love making things from old pants, too.

I agree, this is great.  The shapes and lines are very appealing, and the details carried over from the pants are sweet!

That's really good! I love the symmetry and the way the handles flow into the sides (the kidney-shaped pockets remind me of yin-yang halves, if that makes sense). Very nice.  Grin
