ok so at the costume shop i work at , there has been a giant need for richard simmons short, and they are like impossible to find, so i made some. the end...

i drafted the pattern sorta from a pair of shorts i had but then i altered it alot.

heres what i based them off of

and heres what i made

heres the pattern piece i made

and the drawstring/elastic closure

how do you think i did?

would you buy this style in a different print?

They're so cute!

I would totally buy a pair if the stripes were sequined.

Ha, these are great! I am usually not one for paying alot for shorts, but if I absolutely needed richard simmons shorts specifically, i would probably pay around 30 dollars for them

Haha I'm just wondering why your store has a giant need for Richard Simmons shorts  Cheesy

I make Elegant Gothic Lolita goods on commission, and sometimes I just make things for the online store!

Oh my goodness, LOVE. A few weeks ago a friend and I found a Richard Simmons tape at Value Village...we bought because it was $3 and just thought it was such a hoot. 15 minutes into the actual workout, we both thought, "WOW, never making fun of Richard Simmons again." Seriously, he's intense. But really fun. Anyway, the point is, excellent shorts, everyone should have a pair.

OMG!! Toooo cool! Richard is SUCH a queen... these shorts rock and you did a fantastic job working them up. I LOVE the fabric, it looks somewhat silky? .. and that trim!

Pricing, I would say $25-$35 bucks. If i just wanted them I'd pay $25-ish but if I NEEDED them for something specific I'd pay $35- $40ish. LOL, beyond that, being the crafty girl that I am, would prob take a page from your book and sew up a pair.

Thanks for posting! Who knew there'd be a mad rush for Richard Simmons shorts!
