I want so much more than they've got planned

It's almost 4AM here, and I'm way too excited to wait for someone else to start the fiber friday thread!

This's a yarn I started ages ago and only recently finished. It was inspired by my favorite shampoo. Because my shampoo smells good and it says it's pomegranate and green tea. So that's what this is. Pomegranate & Green Tea.

And this's some roving I dyed ages ago. The colors are more pronounced in real life.

Let's see your stuff!

The yarn is nice and I really like the roving.

It will still be some time before I have something completed.  The yellow/orange/red yarn is done and the blue/rust yarn is still a work in progress.  The eventual goal is to ply these two together.  I think it will look great together.

Oooh, those are lovely! I think the blue one reminds me of some kind of candy, but I'm not sure what. ^_^ Should be even yummier (Yummier?) together!

Happy Friday everyone!! I did some fun spinning this week!

My favorite this week is a combo of textures.. I used a batt with bamboo, silk and alpaca, and also some loose teeswater locks. I corespun it all (tailspun the locks) with spots of lurex autowrapping.  I also added silk fabric, sequins strands, lurex, angelina, banana silk and firestar
Ice Castle, 80 yards (over 6 oz!!)

I did an extreme tailspun yarn.. it's 13 yards from 3 oz! The most beautiful cotswold curls!
Tropical Fish

here's a rainbow corespun of all sorts of fibers and textures
Clown Pants, 64 yards

I also did a couple yum soft spun singles
It was a Dark and Stormy Night, 96 yards, sw bfl

Truffle Swirl, 142 yards, sw merino/seacell

Happy weekend everyone! hope it's fiber filled!

Pretty stuff guys! Cheesy

After learning a bit more about these dang ratio things (ha ha), I've been practicing finer yarns.

"Midnight Shimmer" 200 yards merino/mohair, 22 wpi

This was done with the fiber Belladune sent me in the handspun/fiber swap. The brown single is a mix of shetland, camel, yak, and silk. The green single is alpaca/bfl. I'm afraid that plying them together sort of took away from the charm of the brown, it was very pretty with darker brown bits and also bits of bright green. Ah well ! I still love it. Cheesy

My first time trying long draw. Still need more practice. ^^; This is about 112 yards, dunno wpi yet (pretty inconsistent, I can say that much).

Probably going to be taking a break from spinning for a bit. I'm moving in to college tomorrow, and I gotta get settled in! But I'll have my wheel, so that'll be good. Tongue

oooh Oddacity!!  I like how you spun it up!  you should see my first attempt at long draw..... yikes it goes from laceweight to chunky/underspun......  from what I can see there, your first attempt at long draw went better then mine Smiley
