earlier i posted a naked lady stereo i made, but i think maybe it would help to have some context. this is the bedroom they are hanging on the wall in.

as soon as you walk in the door, you see this:

that's an arcade cabinet i built from some nice cabinet grade plywood. its got a picture tube from an old 26 inch tv. sound is being driven by a cheapo practice guitar amp from walmart, and i'm using the stock tv speakers with it. i hard wired in the board from one of those little battery operated tv games you get with pacman and some other games on it. i made a metal plate to mount the joystick and buttons on. it works great.

look a bit to the right and you see this:

yeah, the bed has steps. its solid white and solid wood. i built it using 2x12s, plywood, and 2x4's. one end has steps, the other end is bolted into the wall, so it has no legs and is completely open underneath. it floats about 2 feet from the floor and fits a queen matress. I have a black comforter on there tucked into the sides. the tv in the corner has an atari 2600 hooked up to it. missile command works perfectly.

standing at the foot of the bed you see this:

there is no headboard. the art on the wall loosely resembling a water molecule is made from plywood and blue rope light. i hard wired it to a switch on the bed that's in the space between the wall and the mattress compartment. there's a good 6 inches there for glasses or beer bottles of your iphone. on the underside is a recessed light about the size of an overhead office light. i used the diffuser from one of those kinds of lights and some blue lightrope to get the glow under the bed. this light is also wired into that switch, so you sort of turn the whole bed on at once.

if you were to turn to your immediate right, you'd see another white wall with the naked lady stereo floating on it. i also have some more pics here to finish the view of the room.

art should not exist for the sake of itself

I love that arcade game! Does the TV still work as a normal TV, or does it just play the games? It'd be awesome to have just a normal television in an arcade game cabinet.

I was going to ask if the room had other art features and color lighting when i saw the ladies.  I want an Atari! have you always had it or was it a recent find?  I saw one a couple of years ago at a thrift store and passed it up, now i wish i would have bought it.

no it just plays pac-man, bosconian, dig-dug, rally-x, and galaxian. the tv was pretty much curb ready because the jack on the tuner was busted and the audio was fried. this was pretty much the only use i would be able to get out of it.

i took three atari 2600s from ebay to get one working model. i had to combine the parts from all three to get one working console and two working controllers. it was a lot of fun tearing those old units apart and seeing the old school analog components in them.  Grin

That was a *beeep* of a bed! The way you've done it you have made something more out off it instead of just a normal bed. I'm just on my way to move to my first apartment, I will definitely be inspired by your bed!

Absolutely gorgeous. This is the sort of room I always imagined having when I was all growned up and wealthy (hah); I can't believe you made all this. It's seriously beautiful, and looks so comfortable too!
