), I made the famous Elvis Presley Fool's Gold Loaf last night!

I couldn't afford Dom Perignon, so we went with a nice Prosecco, but the rest of the ingredients were the same.
(toasting the king before the sandwich is done)
cooking the bacon took FOREVER and made like a gallon of grease (that popped, burned my arm, and destroyed my bf's shirt)
A pound of cooked bacon
The first step is to hollow out the bread. Yes, my cookie sheet is black from use.. I hope I'm not the only one that has one of those
Step 2: Add a little peanut butter (and not the natural non-hydrogenated kind either! That's not the Elvis way
Step 3: Add some more peanut butter
Step 4: Add so much peanut butter you can't lift the bread
Step 5: Add a whole bunch of jelly (even if you hate jelly and don't think grape will go with bacon)
Ready for the bacon!
Step 6: Resist the urge to use the delicious bacon on something tasty like a BLT and add it to the sandwich
Step 7: Assemble and put it in a 350 degree oven until the bread is warmed but not crisp
Step 8: Get the sandwich all over your face, hands, and floor
So the verdict was mixed. The BF (who I think might have just been cranky about the shirt) said it was inedible and had chips/salsa for dinner. I thought it was ok, but you really REALLY have to like PB&J sandwiches. I thought the bacon got completely lost in all of that peanut butter.
My sister's verdict: Best hangover food ever!
Man, she loved this sandwich like none other! Which leads me to my ultimate conclusion.. If you really want to enjoy the Fool's Gold Loaf, you have to live like Elvis.. or at least be as hungover as Elvis
