I'm a theatre student, and we have to make models for design classes. They're miniatures of the set, so you can get a feel for it before it's built in real life. I'm pretty proud of them. They're foam core, balsa wood, and polymer clay, mostly. They're in 1/2" scale, so they're itty bitty...
My first model ever. It's mostly paper, and it didn't hold together too well. It's a little crooked, but that's how we learn! I really like the little dude, even though he's not totally accurate to real life.
My final for our model making class. The floor warped really badly when I laid the balsa wood down. I've been meaning to fix it, but haven't found the time.
A close up. I built all the furniture from scratch. The chair, ottoman and book are polymer clay with wood accents and the globe is a ping pong ball with poly clay and balsa.
The model with light on it...not the best photo I've ever taken...
This is for Charlotte's Web. It's being built in real life right now, to open next week... eep!! This model is 1/4" scale, so it's less than a foot wide.
There's this pretty badass ferris wheel... it's 24' in diameter and it spins. The one in the model doesn't... I'm not that awesome in tiny scale.
Thanks for looking!
