When my bf and I recently moved into a MUCH nicer apartment, with a MUCH larger bedroom, I was very excited to have room for nightstands. So, being the cheap chick that I am, I bought some pine shoe racks, painted them with paint I already had (from touching up the paint job in our previous apartment, in order to get our security deposit back Tongue). Then I stuck some peel 'n' stick floor tiles I got from the dollar store on the top to make a nice flat surface! They're perfect for my bedroom (going for kind of a shabby-chic-but-not-too-shabby look lol) and the best part is, that they cost me $12 each! I COULD put tiles on the lower shelves, but I like how it looks with the simple planks exposed Smiley
Hope you like 'em!

(Oh, I made the box on the table too, out of scrapbook paper, for my pills 'n' such, haha...and that bottle is my vitamins, with the ugly label covered with wrapping paper!)

What a cool idea!  I like the shelves the way they are too, and I love bedside tables with extra storage space.  Great job!

THIS IS JUST AWESOME!!
MY fiancee is considering joining the military, and when we move on base I want to start fresh, with not new/recon/yard sale/flee market EVERYTHING.  And I think something like this will fit well with what I might go for!
Thanks for the great idea/insperation/whatever comes out of my mind from this.
