My husband is from Rome, NY, and we're going there in April for a weekend. I'll check out whatever craft stores I can find and let people know (if anyone is from nearby) if there are any good ones.

so glad this post got revived.

i have a vintage clothing store in syracuse - where we are the proud hosts of
Radical Craft Night.  We eat, we laugh, and sometimes someone makes something.  anyone is welcome, we meet every Thursday.  the crafting levels vary from stressed out people coloring in their Hello Kitty coloring books up to handmade victorian tassels (but we think ed's a bit of an overachiever).

details and directions on our site:  http://www.highlyatomic.com  CNYers join us!

shameless plug part:  along with vintage clothes and records, we also sell reconstructed clothes from 3 local artists.

I am a relocated Upstater...I live in NYC now, but my home town is Candor (which is nearly half way between Ithaca and Binghamton for those of you in that area).  Cheesy

I've been through Candor many times. It's pretty close to here (Binghamton).
