Slave Leia

Well, I finally got it done! I wore my Slave Leia costume to GenCon Indy this past weekend, and it was a blast! I made everything but the shoes. All of the "metal" pieces are made from polymer clay, Premo and Bake and Bend Sculpey, then painted with acrylic gold paint and an antiquing medium. I'm planning on making the boots, once I find some (I wear a size 5, it can be hard to find decently priced ones sometimes). I also want to make the collar and chain eventually too, but I didn't want to wear those to the con, because I was afraid people would yank on the chain.

Thanks for all the great comments guys! I put a ton of work into this, and I really appreciate the positive feedback. 

The Bake and Bend Sculpey is awesome! The only downside is that it only comes in a variety pack of six different colors, and you don't get very much. I went through 2 packs of it just on the hair pieces and the bracelets. It's really cool how flexible it is though.

The creature in the last picture is a dragon's head from a game called Dragon Age. They had a cardboard cut out thing next to it of a warrior that you could stick your head on top of his body and take your picture. I think all the cameras were pointing at me at that point though.

Gorgeous! I think what really makes this is your confident attitude. People were only looking because you made it easier to see

I hope you plan to wear this more, I think people really will love seeing it and who knows, sometimes they have prizes for random costumed people!

Thanks! Actually, they did have a hall costume contest, where judges were randomly hidden throughout the halls, and handed out prizes. I won some stuff for that! Unfortunately, I didn't get registered in time to compete in the big costume contest, but now I know what I have to do for next year.

I definitely plan on wearing this again. It's probably going to be my Halloween costume this year, I have 2 parties to go to, but I'm going to try to make a robe to go over it so I don't freeze my bum off!

Nicely done! I've seen a few of these (I go to another con) and they rarely look as good as yours!
