I'm behind, I'm sorry!

birds - they scare me too. but I feel bad if i hit one/run one over. I found a whole wing in my tire well once...i still cry about it sometimes.

roommate - I have a college rooms for literally 3 weeks and I still curse her out. She was such a stupid lush...ugh. And we shared the same last name so people thought we were related too.

uncommented secret - same here. I had one a few rounds ago no one commented on and it was a dark secret. I was upset but i figured people couldn't relate.

older men - i'm sorry about your father but there's no harm in flirting! I used to flirt like crazy with someone i worked with who was way older.....fun times

Check out my bi-weekly podcast where two twenty something heterosexual women (who act like fifty something gay men) discuss geek culture, pop culture and all things Disney, Doctor Who and theater.

@postsecret secret: I have to admit, sometimes I don't comment on a secret because everything I can think of saying sounds false even if it isn't, or full-of-myself, or just plain cheesy, and I can't get around to posting the comment with any self-respect left. But no secret goes unread, or unfelt.

That's me too.  Sometimes I don't comment on something that moves me just because I can't quite figure out how to articulate what I want to say about it.

Front:

I have an addictive personality

Back:

Once I get into something I cant stop till I'm done or months later.

My most recent Addiction?  Reading.  I cant stop, Even if the novel sucks (like the one ripped up on this post card).  I've spent About $1200 on books at Barnes And Noble in a matter of months.  Money I cant waste.

I get Addicted to crafts till they're done.  TV series.  Series on DVD (I'll spend hours watching them despite plans I may have had previously).

It scares me.  I'm Afraid of becoming Addicted to something bad.  I've Avoided drugs and pills and gambling.  But with my 21st passed, Alcohol has entered the picture.

I'm hoping I break the pattern.

I hope you break the pattern too--and I'm sure that you can.  I believe in you.  Thank you for sending me your secret. Kiss

i am the exact same way. the one reason i will never ever smoke anything, not even a cigarette, is because i know i'd be instantly addicted.

I would say that was more obsession than addiction, especially considering each obsession eventually wears off. I think that usually gets better with age, as you get more involved with your job (hopefully find something you love) and maybe your partner. Basically, use the energies you spend on a comparatively pointless obsession (nothing wrong with reading - go to the library) on something you need to spend all your time and attention on.

addiction - I understand, I have been addicted to cigarettes, smoked for 4 years and I have managed to give them up, it's the hardest things I've ever done but once addicted always addicted, I still slip now and again even if I know I shouldn't...
