I used a coloring book page and transferred it. I colored it in with colored pencils.

I commented on this on the Embroidery pool on Flickr, but there's no 'This Rocks' button there!

And this rocks...seriously!  I watched GI Joe all the time with my nephews back in the day...I love how you did his eyes!
