Crocheting basic cone shape

Does anyone have any patterns that are the same basic cone shape as this? Or any advice on how to make them?

i would start at the top & work it in a spiral only slightly increasing to the bottom then once you change colors start decreasing sharply, every other stitch or so.  though it might be easier to start with the bottom.  or make it in 2pcs.  hope some of that makes sense & answers your question.

it'll be a lot easier to start at the bottom.
once you get the size of the circle on the bottom the size you want, sc around for a row or so, and start your decreasing.
and then when working your way up, every time you decrease, sc around in the next row. so it'll make it longer, creating the cone shape.
that's worked for me in a few of my projects.

I'm going to give it a go. Just wondering, how many times would you increase (or decrease, depending on which way I work) per row?

a good way to start if you start at the bottom would be like this:
R1 - 6 in ring (or chain 6 and join however you start)
R2 - sc 2 in each stitch around
R3 - sc 2 in next st, 1 sc
R4 - sc 2 in next st, 2 sc
R5 - sc 2 in next st, 3 sc
R6 - sc 2 in next st, 4 sc

and just keep increasing like that til you get to how big you want the whole thing to be.
then i usually sc how many rows i increased. so if i ended at:
R6 - sc 2 in next st, 4 sc i'd sc 4 rows before i started decreasing.

when you decrease, it usually looks like:
sc2tog, 4 sc
sc around
sc2tog, 3 sc
sc around
sc2tog, 2 sc
sc around
sc2tog, 1sc
sc around
sc2tog

and then you should be done!

Thank you for this post.  Do you join and chain one at the beginning of each row or just place a marker and crochet around?
