Here's my addition to Kitten Wrangler's towel.  KW's interests were as varied as Soviet propaganda and Indonesian designs, among others.  I had already picked a pretty bad-a** Soviet design to stitch, but I knew I had to go in another direction once I saw what had already been added to the towel.

I'm not too sure that hummingbirds and lotus flowers even have anything to do with Indonesia, but I think the design and the colors flowed nicely with what was already there.

And here's the whole towel so far:

i love the cardinal!

Gatsby!!! LOVE the chihuahua. It reminds me of a group I was a part of on myspace called "obey the chihuahua!" it fits perfectly in my house, as all my chihuahuas are the rulers of the place. thanks so much!!
Mego! I love the lion as well! so cute! I wanted to dress on of the pups up as a lion, then i thought about dressing them up as the 3 amigos. but i haven't had a chance to find tiny sombreros.

I finished Mamaphunks towel this evening! Hers is about anthropologie inspired. I found a drawing of Pennsylvania dutch artwork in a book that my grandmother gave me way back when. she got it when she was in her 40s-50s and she is 82 now! it doesn't have a cover on it, so I don't know too much about the book. but i thought it fit perfectly on this towel. I added a few pieces on it my self that i thought made it more anthropoligie-esque!!

Yay! Lots of new stitching! The persimmons are wonderful. Very nice choice of floss.
The chihuahua is great! So creative.
I love the humming bird and flowers. The floss looks divine.
The dutch design is so fun! It goes perfect with that towel too!

Here is my addition to sew~amy's towel.  I didn't have my laptop for a while, so it took a little while to post.  It is a VW bus/camping theme:

Here is the next towel - fiberartsy's - it was the no theme theme, but already had 2 cats on it so I continued:

j_q_adams: Hummingbirds are an American bird, I believe, but the lotus is a common symbol through a lot of Asia - a lot of Hindu and Buddhist imagery use it. I've tried to do a brief search for some building columns I see a lot in Yogya - can't find a photo, but there's often a lotus capital on them.

The colours are lovely, and I'm loving how it's all looking so lovely together.

You know I was totally going to do the sublime stitching chi, but I also had this lion that I couldn't resist!!  It reminded me of our chi who just passed away in July, he always had a lion's mane!

Love the chihuahua Bri!  It totally reminds me of the chihuahua attitude Cheesy  Thanks for getting a photo of my lion Cheesy
