When I got Kitten Wrangler's towel I was so taken by the colors of the fish that I abandoned my previous ideas and just played around with the colors. Here's what I came up with.

A close up of some of the new stitches I tried

That's Pekinese (a lacing stitch) in a plain back stitch circle and then in a button hole circle.

And a variation of chain stitch that looks like, uh, a chain!
I had so much fun with this towel!

I dream of a house covered with your art, and would love a personal swap. Pm me if you'd like to spread the crafty love! I also need blue fabric scraps for a scrap quilt!

I'm really blown away.  Lily, that wrestling patch is freakin' amazing.  I couldn't believe it was stitched and not a printed piece.  Sonja's design totally cracked me up -- what a creative idea!  And Pearl's work on kitten wrangler's towel is just awesome.  I can't get over it.  Of course, I have to work on kitten wrangler's towel next, and now I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO!  I had something planned, but the towel has clearly gone in a totally different direction.  I guess that's part of the fun of this swap!

PS. I forgot to mention how much I loved Susie's cowboy, and ff's witch, and ... well, and just about everything else in this swap!

j_q_adams ... too cute for words! Did you show her the finished stitched pieces? If so...what did she say? I bet she loved them!

awww, thanks!  i actually wrote to the artist this evening, so i will keep y'all posted on her reaction.

PPS. Here's the latest -- the artists loved the piece so much that they asked me to make a set for them in exchange for a few free prints from their shop!  YEAH!

I'm not happy, I'm cheerful. There's a difference.

Pearlipie- So cool!  Just last night I was looking at images of some of those kinds of stitches and thinking I should try them.  You used beautiful colors!

Sonjabegonia- Great job!  You deserve to do much less worrying and way more enjoying your talent!
