PaleAngelLex, I knew what that was IMMEDIATELY! I hope you don't mind, but one of my writers is friendly with the "It's Always Sunny" guys, so I sent a link to her to pass along to them if she gets a chance.

OMG! I don't mind at all! I love that show.

PaleAngelLex - ok..you make me want to google it!   Huh
Googled: http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x25/RiserGlen/Nightman.jpg   Shocked
Great work!  Wink

Pearliepie - I love everything about your piece! She's retro-licious!  Wink

Glenda - Yay! So glad you like the fish! ...I'd like to credit sarahj2001 with the inspiration to do a 'mirror effect' with the fish... her butterflies were stuck in my head at the time I was drawing.  Smiley

Mego - excellent work...great choice of colors & you cropped the design nice to fit the space on the towel! I love birds!

Sixblueirises - cool lyric interpretation! Love how you put the words within the face area & cool swirl on the hair!

sew~amy - your design is so great...don't knock it!!! It's very cool & creative!  Wink

Lilyvanilli - awesome awesome... hot dog! ...so all around awesome!  Grin

Recangel - Your fish is so sexy! Love the eyes, the lips, and the bubbles are sweet!

j_q_adams - Fabulous buffalo/bison! I think centering it on the towel was the right thing to do! The flowers framing it makes it a real centerpiece! Thanks for sharing the pattern link!  Wink

Okay, here goes, got some photos ready.

This is what I've crammed into a corner of IamSusie's towel:

They're flowers I drew, based on the Hungarian folk-art style. I've always loved how rich and slightly surreal they look. There's a bag amongst IamSusie's Craftster favourites that showed a lot of bright felt flowers, and they reminded me of this style. I wish I could have done more, but yeah... I feel like I'm working 3 full time jobs at the moment, so no time to add more flowers Sad

More pics!

Wow! I've just managed to catch up on the gallery and I must say we have quite a talented group Smiley Everyone's stuff is very cool... I can't wait to see that octopus up close and in person!

I'm going to try and catch up here in one post so bear with me. First, my towel went out to Mamaphunk with a tiny cross stitch on it... My theme was video games, so I stitched up some life points for the towel. 2.5 hearts out of 3, but I'm sure we can make it to the end of the level on that, as hopefully there aren't too many enemies.

Okay and now we have my addition to fenifer's towel. This will need some explaining... The towel started off blank, so I researched a little and found that we both like the band The Flaming Lips. During some shows, the band will hand out laser pointers, which the entire audience points directly at the lead singer. He then takes out a giant, round mirror and reflects all the lasers back into the club. This is an abstract representation of that. At first I wanted to do him rolling over the crowd in the giant hamster ball like he does, but I think this facet transferred a bit better to embroidery and is pretty much just as cool in person.

And here's a photo for scale--the fabric is kinda small. I made my design to fit a 4.5 inch square.

Annnnd... if you're curious to know what this phenomenon looks like in person, here is someone's photo on flickr (not mine): http://www.flickr.com/photos/thomerickson/3835743109/
