So I have been wanting to try to move away from using paper towels.  We have a bad habit of using them for napkins at meals.  So I made some cloth napkins from leftover fabric from past projects that had a bit too much fabric to toss, but not enough to really do much with.  Then I needed something to store the napkins in on the table so I whipped up a little fabric basket/bin.

very cute - great job and great idea.

a while back i made about 20 cloth napkins out of my scraps - love them. though they just get shoved into a drawer. what a great idea for the bucket to match! i'll have to do that too!

Very nice. I really need to make some for our house.  I keep meaning too, this brought the project back to my attention.  I love the idea of the cute basket to stash them in.

Yes you can.

I think what your talking about in the tut you were reading was that they are folding it in half sewing and turning it right side out, this creates a two sided napkin.  It's a preferance thing.

I put a tutorial on my blog as well for how I made the basket and for the napkins I just cut a square and hemmed.  I prefer a single layer for my napkins.
