Gooood mornin all,
Finished my first embroidery over the weekend. I was inspired by all the wonderful embroidery I see here on craftster and other blogs like MrX Stitch. I copied the outline from an image on the internet, then outlined it in split stitch. Nothing very wonderfully technique-wise, but it was exciting to watch the picture develop. I'm a little disappointed with the suckers on the tentacles, but overall, like the way it turned out. I love octokitties. Not sure why this one is so crabby - doesn't like having his privacy invaded?  Tongue. anyway, thanks for looking, suggestions, C & C welcome! and thanks for all the inspiration!
Here is the whole shebang:

sorry about the blurriness - just had to use my phone, since my dd lost my good camera...

One of the many things I love about this board is to see people fall in love with needlework AND produce beautiful pieces!

This is so lovely, the colors are perfect.  Your stitching is insanely precise for a beginner, and I love the 'movement' of your lines...even on plain fabric he looks like he's underwater.

Spectacular debut!  Keep it up!
