Here is my first attempt at felting.  I got some wool/acrylic blend on sale at my LYS and gave it a whirl.  I knitted it on size 10 1/2 circulars and got the shape because I was afraid it was turning out too huge so I just decreased a bunch of stitches half-way up the purse.  I made two I-cords and twisted them for the handle.  The closure is just a rectangle with a buttonhole knitted on one side.  I felted the closure seperately and sewed it on later. I think I'm going to sew up the buttonhole though and put a magnetic snap on the flap because the button is stretching out the buttonhole already.  Anyway, hope you like it!

Very cute shape and color!  I love the button tab!  Much adorableness!  Are you addicted to felting now?

What percentage acrylic was the wool blend?  That may be the reason the buttonhole is stretching.  I knitted and felted a purse using wool and a nylon ribbon yarn and it stretched out a lot.

It was 9% acrylic and 10% nylon so perhaps that is the issue.  Only the buttonhole seems to be stretching, thankfully!  I'm VERY addicted to felting now.  I just bought a great book called Felted Knits by Beverly Galeskas at a book sale.  Right now I'm working on a purse in lime green colored wool for summer.... it's so bright!

Thanks for the feedback!
