Wow that's a really good looking sweater.  I've made a pair of socks with a size 2, and that's the lowest I've gone.  Also I've never read anything about steeking, sounds complicated.

Honestly, steeking sucks, but it's still better than knitting something like this on straight needles instead of circular.  If you can imagine it, the body is knit in one giant tube.  Then  you use a sewing machine to seam up either side of two armhole slits and one front slit.  Then, you cut.
