I found this fabric at Joanns on the sale rack and knew I had to make a sundress out of it.  I made it for my vacation to Mexico and finished it the weekend before.  All I had left to do was sew on a hook and eye above the zipper.  I thought, "oh well, I'll do that tomorrow".  Well 'tomorrow' I broke my arm, and needless to say, the hook and eye got left off!

I did use a Simplicity tank top pattern for the bodice.  Then just added a waistband and a gathered rectangle for the skirt.

I love it!  The fabric is really pretty.

Sorry about your arm! Broken bones are the worst Sad

Life is too short to wear boring clothes.

Well the dress looks pretty easy to get on over a cast. It's a good think you didn't try to make a parka or something Cheesy
I absolutely LOVE the dress. It's so beyond pretty.

I'm also kind of a sucker for paisley, as Boo_its_Brittany says.

One question: Where's your matching sling? Cheesy

Don't frown because someone might be falling in love with your smile.

Thanks everyone!

I did wish I had a pretty sling instead of the boring navy blue one I got from Urgent Care.  Sadly I didn't have enough range of motion to do any sewing until lately, and I still don't have enough strength to operate a pair of scissors.  (I did buy a rotary cutter yesterday!)  Since the cast comes off in a week, though, I think I'll focus my efforts elsewhere.   Smiley

Angelicus, the pattern I used was Simplicity 3956. http://www.simplicity.com/p-2069-misses-tops.aspx
I made a cute tank top from this pattern too, then broke the zipper and never got around to fixing it.
Its always a long story

I love the fabric, and the style of the dress. I hope your arm gets better soon! I've never broken a bone, but I tore a tendon a few years back, and if broken bones hurt as much as that, I wish you an abnormally speedy recovery  Cheesy

Never underestimate the power of suggestion.

I am interested in personal swaps for fabric and quilting squares. PM me if you're interested!
