Hyper-Piston, Yes! I did the Dobby afghan too. I love him!

nfirehazzard, I started on the Kirk when i had posted Spock because I knew I'd want to make him too. And like HippiePunk has guessed, I am a crochet mad scientist!! LOL!

I think I'd love to see a Picard/Data afghan. They are my faves from The Next Generation.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys!  Cheesy

I've been wanting to try tunisian crocheting an afghan for awhile now and have two questions:

1. What length hook did you use and where did you buy it?

2. What do you do to keep the edges from rolling up?

Ah! I knew it! So freaking cool<3

Oh, I have a question too actually. I know they make cabled J hooks, did you use that?
And if so, do you know of super long ones?

I used a cabled J hook I got from Hobby Lobby that is approximately 16" long in the cable part.

But, I know you can get a much longer cable one at Jo Ann Fabrics which has doubled ended hooks. (It doesn't matter about the second hook that is attached to the other end. Just wrap a rubber band or hair band on one of the hooks ends to stop the stitches from slipping off.) Then you can make a much longer afghan.

Here's a 22 inch cabled hook at Jo Fab http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat2873&PRODID=prd28062

Here's a 40" cable double ended hook http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat2873&PRODID=prd27714

To stop the curling when your done with the afghan you need to crochet a border around it. Single crochet stitches work well. (The more rows you do the better it will flatten out). Or a basketweave stitch in double crochet works great too!

Thank you much for answering my questions!  Smiley

I just have one more, about how long does it take you to make one of these afghans?  You seem to get through them in no time...

And I realize that I have yet to echo the praise and tell you how absolutely wonderful these and all the rest of your afghans are!  Keep up the good work!
