I couldn't leave Spock just hanging all alone. He belongs with Captain Kirk.

So I crocheted this Captain Kirk afghan and joined them into one huge Star Trek afghan.

I added the words 'Star Trek' to the bottom by crocheting another scarf-sized panel and joining it underneath the other two. (My son said it would have made a neat scarf).

Kirk is also tunisian crocheted using the size J cabled afghan hook.
I decided to make his shirt green because that's what color he actually wore in the  original series. (Early television sets couldn't get the color right and it came out as a yellow or gold color.) However I did surround him in yellow because that's the color we're most used to seeing him in.

I didn't like the Kirk stencil at Pinkraygun so I googled around and found a pretty decent stencil of a young Kirk, (William Shatner).

I've got more pics including the front and back of this afghan in my blog.

Knot all there

That is effing gorgeous. I love it! It's so excellently done, I love how clean cut and sharp it is while still being a soft blanket. Oh, to curl up with the Captain and Spock!

You did the Dobby Afghan of Awesomeness too, am I correct?

Holy shi...dude, I have to learn tunsian crochet, pronto. I remember thinking just Spock alone was amazing but Kirk, too and with a border and logo perfectly rendered in the right font? You're like a crochet mad scientist or something. Maybe a Picard/Riker or Janeway/Tuvok combo afghan are in order?
