The Smurfs. Man, I loved that cartoon.

I recently sewed this dishtowel out of aida cloth and stitched my favorite Smurf on it. It's Grouchy. Or Mrgud, as we call him in Croatia.

Here he is expressing his (and my) opinion of dishes. Can you guess what he's saying?  Grin

He's done on 22count aida cloth, one strand of floss. Now that I look at it, I probably should have centered the phrase, instead of this...right alignment?

Blogged here.

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

I like the alignment.  I think it adds character.  Great job!

I like the alignment, too. It's kind of like a shadow. A grumpy shadow.

Fantastic! I like that you sewed a towel out of aida, and I think the text looks better off-centered that it would if it was centered, for sure. I have no idea what he's saying, but I think that we probably are in agreement.

Also, I love your Emerson Cod user icon Smiley

In Croatian, you pronounce words pretty much the way you write them. So Mrgud would be 'mrgud'. Or ['m'rgud] if I remember my phonetics class correctly. Which I doubt.

Let's say it's a combination of myrrh and good. Pronounce those two words together fast and you get Mrgud. Myrrhgood.  Smiley

He's saying: I hate dishes!  Grin

And thanks for the icon love. Emerson is the best. Too bad the show is over.
