Well, this week I decided to confront my fears. I sewed clothing for myself for the first time. I'm a beginner sewer (this is perhaps my third project), so I chose skirts. Figured they're relatively easy Grin

I used no patterns, just sort of made it up as I went along. I learnt a lot. And man, those buttons were soooo much fun to pick out! ♥

♣ Grey skirt with wide waistband and pleat-thingys. Loved this fabric, and at $10, this is the cheapest skirt I've got  Cheesy

Closeup of the fabric, with more accurate colours:

♣ This second skirt I made out of some fabric I found in the garage. I think it was some sort of garment once upon a time. It was too cut up for me to figure out what, though. Oooh, a mystery! There were chunks missing, so I patched them with grey and hid them in the vague pleats. Has a zipper and button closure at the back!

Again, close up of bottom with slightly more honest colours:

Hehe, can you tell I adore scarves?  Tongue

I love the second one, even more with the story behind, because it shows that with a little imagination and creativity its possible to make something unique and VERY beautiful out of almost everything. And its even cheaper than the the other one.

I really love the skirts, they don't seem as if they were your third project.
