i have all these sock that i never have worn and got tired of them just taking up space in my sock drawer...4 pairs to be exact. i took each sock and cut it into one long strip. i came out with this square and now have no idea what to do with it. lol some of the socks had little grips on the bottom so my needle broke..cheap plastic Angry

omg i have never heard of breaking a hook crocheting, lol, but i don't like those plastic needles anyway.  i learned with an aluminum hook, so for me they are too light. (small diff i know, but diff it is Tongue).  but it's a cute square.  i would have never thought to cut up old socks.

Cool!  Maybe you could use it as a trivet or hot pad?  Coaster?  Doillie?
Good job, and sorry about your hook! Cheesy

I don't know what you could do with the square, but that's a creative use for old socks!

omg. i could see you crocheting around and around the edge like a big granny square and turning it into a rug. or even making more patches that size and sewing them together into a floor covering...

also, what a great idea for recycling fibers!! i guess you can basically use anything, can't you? great job!!

Ask all your friends to give you their old or unmatched socks, and add them to the square until you have a small rug. Keep it by your bed to put you feet on in the morning and avoid the cold floor. New life for socks, same purpose.   Wink After you get a new needle of course.

This could make a good pot holder.

What a great new life for those socks!!
You will find more and you can just keep making squares and sew them all together for a funky sock rug!!!
