I'm stitching away on kittykill's towel. I've been stitching at night, but took tonight off because I received some books in the mail (Blogging for Bliss & Embroidered Effects -- whee!!!) and opted to look thru those instead. However, I'm making great progress and don't see any problem making my send-by date Smiley.

Last year we replaced our lightbulbs with the kind that mimic daylight.  These are compact flourescent bulbs and they make night time stitching so much easier!  At first the lightbulbs seem kind of bluish, but they really are terrific and easy on the eyes.  It wasn't more expensive to do this than getting regular CFLs, although for some of the recessed lighting, I had to find sources on the internet.

Speaking of lighting -- I'm really kicking myself for not getting those $20 ottlights that JoAnn had on clearance/sale a month ago!!  I desperately need a small desk light like those to have on the end table while I embroider.  I've been tilting the lampshade, but that just blinds everyone else.  Hmm... I wonder if they still have them & if I'll be able to use a 40% off coupon...

Hooray!  Still online & still $20!!!  Now I just need to decide on a color...

OOH! Both of those books sound great. I really want to get the Embroidered Effects book.

I didn't want to get Ott Lights because they have a special bulb that only fits their lights.  You can get full spectrum lightbulbs to fit your regular lighting and it is much cheaper.  Unfortunately, they don't make full spectrum CFLs in a candelabra size so our ceiling fan in the bedroom is still yellow bulbs.

I found ott light bulbs that fit a standard lamp for around $7-$8 at Lowes... they're in a yellow box & I'm pretty sure Lowes still carries them.

I Sew Cute --

I might try doing that instead, since I just managed to find my desk lamp after moving 8 months ago!

I am so excited!! I was looking at Lilyvanilli's profile, and I saw something that we have in common. I now know exactly what words I'm going to put on her towel. It's going to be awesome!
