This is my version of the Monster messanger bag that has been posted to craftster. Thank you so much for all the messanger bag tutorials on the Purses, bags and wallets board. And thank you for all the other inspiration that have been posted.

This is the bag my son wanted for for 3rd grade.

This is the fluffy robe that we found at Goodwill for $3.99


We used an old red satin type  sheet we had for the lining. We made a flip out tongue/cell phone pocket. (My son insisted on this even though he doesn't have a cell phone!)

Close up of the teeth. I used the bathrobe belt as a shoulder strap. I used the belt loops to attache the handles to the bag.

Close up of the monster face. I cut out about 20 pieces for the face and let my son decide on the pieces. It was supposed to be a little asymmetrical. The face of the monster is a little wavy. I need to get better at applique!
