This baby quilt I finished for my friend's first baby girl who was born in February this year. I sent it to her in Boston a while back but haven't posted about it here yet. It's soft and girly and sewn with love <3 It’s made from a charm squares pack of Urban Chik’s “Sweet” line and sashed with some yummy peach solid fabric. And the blue wavy binding turned this quilt from something I liked to something I LOVED!! And I embroidered some birds and her name on the quilt too for a special personal touch. I hope to visit my friend in Boston someday so I can see her little angel enjoy this quilt! Smiley

(Domokun I made for my bf is modeling the quilt~<3)

Here is the best picture I have of the full quilt before I sent it to little miss Charlotte, the adorable newborn recipient~

I love quilt because of the beautiful soft colors and the simplicity of the design with a couple of embroidered embellishments. The simple design let me focus on things like the free motion quilting of roses and leaves and add embroidered birds to add some whimsy and charm. When I quilt, I don’t want any wrinkles in the quilt top which could come from my embroidery hoop so that’s why I quilted this first then I embroidered the details afterwards since the quilt is already pretty and crinkly from the quilting. I think it worked out nicely because the birds fit in perfectly wtih the flow of the quilting without any distortion of the quilt top Smiley It's about 42" x 42". I talked a bit more about how special the quilt is here.

Some more detail shots~

Thanks for looking~! <3

That is so lovely!! The colors are wonderful. Love the peach sashing, and that blue binding really makes it fabulous. Also, great job on the embroidery. Those birds are darling!
