it took an afternoon of watching tv to finish handstitching the top of this, but i'm happy now!  next time i have to come up with a better procedure for putting on the strap.  i put it in before sewing in the zipper top, and believe me, there was some frustration.
but now i have a new spring purse!

Very nice and I like the fabric.  Nice handles too, and great job on having the patience to sew that by hand.

Did you really sew the whole thing by hand??? if so you are amazing and a lot more patient than me. It's a cute bag!!!

hey, thanks!  but just to clarify, i didn't sew the whole thing by hand...just the parts at the top, by the zipper and above the loops, that were too thick for my machine (i broke three machine needles before i was through!)

Ugh!  A work of frustration.  It turned out beautiful though.  I love the fabric and the colours.
