yeah, I don't think I'm going to be able to join, but I would still like to read along with you guys. Most likely I'll read the scifi book, but I'll choose after you guys chose which one you'll be reading.

I'm tempted...But I can only get on Facebook 2 days a week (Thursday and Friday, I don't have internet @ home and work has Facebook blocked )

Each catagory has at least 1 book I'd love to read, and several I've never heard of.  I've already written down names so I can request them @ the library

I think that's ok...we could always post the discussion questions within the thread so you could write up your response ahead of time, then when you are able to get on facebook you can just copy and paste your response and spend your time on there reading other people's responses. We're still trying to find the best way to do this...thanks for the input!

Oooh, good book choices!!!  I've read about half of those, and I'm reading Jonathon Strange and Mr. Norrell right now!!!

How is that going for you?  I had a really easy time putting it down, and a tough time  picking it back up, though I did finish it before returning it to the library.

I don't have a facebook either.  I think that solidifies my geezer status, as just about everyone my teenagers met at camp has one.

I tried reading it a couple of years ago, but I couldn't get into it.  Then I picked it up again earlier this week, and it just seemed to click!  I'm in a bit of a dry spot right now, but I'm hoping it will pick up again in a few pages...it seems like more plot is brewing.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be able to join, because I don't have a facebook thing, and I really don't want to get one.  I'll read along in spirit, though!  I'm interested to see which of the books you guys pick.  I LOVED Ender's Game, and I got my hubby to read it too, and he also loved it.  I've read all but one of the "classics".

I really believe that Ender's Game is the best book ever!! You know right that there is a whole series, and another spin off series about Bean? All the books are good and I recomend reading them all!!

Would it be possible to create threads in the Off-topic Chit-chat area for book discussion instead of using facebook? It seems like several people won't be joining because of not having accounts. Maybe each group could decide how to communicate? Just throwing out some ideas- feel free to tell me to shut my mouth.

Well, the off-topic chit chat is only for Friends of Craftster, so it has limitations, too, if I'm remembering correctly.
