Ugly nightgown to cute skirt!

Hooray for thrift stores and 99 cent racks!  I found this nightgown on Saturday and right away wanted a skirt out of it.  It was pretty ugly as far as the style went, but I loved the fabric.  So..cut, add elastic, move buttons, and voila!  Cute skirt in my favourite skirt length.  And..it has pockets!  Added bonus!

Thanks!  I'm learning to look past the original design to what I could make from it.  Especially when it's so cheap!  I added another photo - I noticed that the first two weren't showing the fabric up close at all and it's so cute with all its little flowers.

Not quite...I stretched the elastic, cut it about an inch longer than I needed it, pinned it to the waist, then sewed it to the waist, stretching it as I went, then I folded over twice and sewed again.  I found a video tutorial on YouTube and sort of followed it.  I've never sewn a waistband like this, but I will totally do it again because it worked great and it looks really nice, too.
