Here's the original swap: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=289375.0
And the gallery: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=291636.0

The idea is to make a necklace out of old jewelry (or whatever assorted randomness you have). It was so fun!! I totally want to do it again.

I would love to try this, although my taste in jewelry runs to a slightly simpler and more traditional style than some of those in the gallery. Could we be specific about our wishes and choices for "junk" in the mix?

Yes, definitely. During the last swap, people sent links to their partners of the styles they liked. If you look at the original swap thread, there are a lot of links to different styles. Some people prefer plastic charms, etc, while others prefer a different look!

Anthropologie has a lot of "statement" necklaces right now that are sort of in this vein.

Also, in the last swap, people were mostly matched up based on their taste in jewelry!

I totally enjoyed it, it was definitely worth signing up for! It isn't really a big swap and its easy on the pockets too, since it is using "junk".. bits and pieces we already have or find in opshops [mixed in with some bought stuff too obv. to get our partners likes perfect  Cheesy ] but overall it was an inexpensive swap! [...unless you have a partner which has allergies and needs a silver chain or something like that].. also postage was cheap as!  Smiley

Does anyone else want to run it? I'm quite pregnant, and I really shouldn't put it on my plate right now!

I'm willing to run this swap as organiser  Smiley But it would be my first swap as an organiser, so I would like an experienced co-organiser for back up. Anyone up for the job? Huh

(Oh, I am in the process of changing my username to Singalala so don't get confused)

I am obligated to host a swap soon, and I never had before. I wish I could help. People keep sending me lots of beads and such, whimsies in swaps, and I would love to try to make a necklace. Is there a place for a beginner?

ETA, you could ask on the questionairre which piece(s) of the previous gallery appealed to them.

This should be a fairly simple swap, so it would be a good one to start on as an organizer.
