We are meeting on Friday, August 21st at 7:00 to do crafty projects.

Book a Million  - outside tables
225-291-2135
10533 South Mall Drive
Baton Rouge, LA 70809
(off Siegen tucked away in a corner)

I hope you join us!! Bring a friend and learn something new.  Work on a craft and share tips.

I think a great portable craft is kanzashi.  You can do a search here and see a zillion pics of the flowers and how they can be assembled.

It's practically free, all you need is scrap fabric.

I'll bring scissors, needles, thread and glue.

Our first meeting last month went well.  There were 3 craftsters and 1 friend.

We plan on meeting every month (2nd to last fridays).

Great!  I can bring supplies too if you like.
What about the library?  I've read the guidelines on who can and can't use the meeting rooms, and I don't see how our group would pose a problem.  I could request an application.  I'll try to think of some other options today.

Weird.  I was just about to email you!

The library closes at 6:00 on Fridays. If anything else, we can always go back to Books a Million and use the outdoor tables.  I can bring a portable fan Smiley

You can bring scrap fabric and items you want to embellish with, like buttons.  I went to a thrift store and bought 2 ties for fabric and I have felt.

Hi guys Smiley  I just moved to BR recently and would love to join in.  I don't really know any good places around here to meet up yet, but you guys are welcome to come to my place.  Hubby and I just bought a big country house just out past University Club in Bayou Paul.  Wait, unless you're serial killers...are you serial killers?  Smiley Hope not!  Of course, I'm fine meeting someplace public as well.  Let me know when and where and I'll be there!

Hey Purly!

I revised my initial post to include the location. Bring scrap fabric for kanzashi, but if you don't want to make flowers, bring a craft your working on.

See you tomorrow!!

Welcome, Purly!  Hope to see you tomorrow at Books a Million.

Attention, BR area craftsters...I will bring edible goodies to our craft meet up!  If all goes well in the kitchen, they'll be homemade.

See you in crafty spirits tomorrow!

I cut my squares today and it took a bit of time so you may want to do yours ahead of time too.  I made mine 1 1/2" square.  Just remember, The smaller the square, the harder to fold.

I am REALLY hoping it's not too humid.  knock on wood.

Great!  I will bring a printed tutorial for one style of flower.  I've never done these before, so I thought having instructions handy would help...mostly so I don't bother HeyVern as much.   Wink
