lacing fingers through the notches of your spine

As part of my mums Chanukah present, I embroidered her this bluebird bag:














The design is adapted from a lovely rubber stamp designed by a lady called Gennine, which I found on her Art Blog - http://blogdelanine.blogspot.com/2007/07/songbird-stamp.html

The body is done in long-and-short stitch in varying thickness of thread (1-6 ply), the wings are mostly satin stitch. There are little bits of chain stitch as well as backstitch for outlines etc. I did quite a bit of it on train journeys  Roll Eyes

I honestly can't tell you how much I LOVE this! It is so beautiful, it must have taken hours and hours to do...your stitches are very neat!

That is just beautiful. So many stitches!

Great effort. I love the simple cream background and the flowers across the top. It just sets off the bluebird perfectlt.
