This past weekend, I had the awesome the awesome opportunity to go to Osheaga in Montreal. I was most super excited for Rufus Wainwright (who was excellent) and of course had to buy a t shirt. Since it was gross man-sized I had to whip it into shape.

eek kind of blurry sorry

The sleeves are slightly gathered

mandatory before shot:

I was worried that my contrast fabric was going to be a bit too busy, but I think it looks pretty good. I wanted something whimsical but not overpowering. I didn't bother taking the shirt in at all before adding to it, which I think gives it a nice touch of slouchiness.

Thanks for looking! C+C welcome.

I think your contrast fabric is perfect, not too much but still interesting.

oh yes it is cute.  I never would have guess that it came from a boring old t-shirt Smiley

Thanks peeps Cool

Yup. Stretchier than the t shirt, actually.

btw, you have the cutest haircut.  Grin

Thanks! Not so much a "haircut" as a "hey my hair is kinda getting too long I think I'll creatively attack it a razor"

i'm new on the circuit to sewing, but just got a Singer and i can't wait to make it sing!  i'm still at "basics" level, but my question is how you get the sleeves to look so nice and slightly "feminine" (smooth, slight gather)?

thanks for reading.  hope this makes sense.
