I loves me some dumpster diving, and needed a dining table. Cue cute table with awesome lines and sturdy joints in the alley behind my house:

I painted it yellow to start:

Decided it needed something more and painted the top copper, with a black trim. I also needed chairs and found two sturdy, nicely made blacks ones next to a bin:

I accented the chairs with a little copper paint to bring it all together:

The finished product. The rug was in the same pile as the chairs, and just needed a good pressure washing to clear some ick. The candle holders are from a yard sale. On the wall, you can see my inspiration piece, a poster I bought in Cedar Key years ago:

Hope you like. This is my first post of a finished project, and the most involved project I have ever done. Total cost was about 10-12 dollars for paint and polyurethane to finish the top.

Looks good! would you consider painting the legs copper? our would that make the piece too dark for your space?

I thought about copper on the legs, but it would make it very dark...tiny apartment. Smiley I wasn't sure if I would like a dramatically darker top for the table, but it actually works when you see it. My boyfriend jokes that I was just trying to go for black and yellow since I am a Steelers fan! LOL. The yellow legs lighten it up and give it a really different look.

Just realised looking at the last picture that the legs seem to scream out almost white against all the other dark stuff. These shows more realistic colours:

I may not be perfect, but I'm so close it's almost eerie.

I love your choice of colors. The copper tabletop is beautiful, in the pictures it looks like some kind of expensive wood.

I love Dumpster diving!  Half the furniture in my spacious apartment is from the trash.  Your table looks great!
