So I know this isn't very crafty, but I just had to share. maybe it will give someone some good inspiration!

When my mom was young, she was really into collecting pins and brooches. So my grandma gave her a collection of her own pins and brooches to add to mom's collection. In turn, when I was younger I amassed a collection of pinback buttons and my mom gifted me her collection. I used to spend hours going through the jewelry box of pins, in love with each one my mom gave me. I'd arrange and rearrange them until the cows came home. As most things from my childhood do, they ended up buried. I just didn't know what to do with them so they sat pinned to a camera bag until yesterday. The frame came from a yard sale a few months ago, and i thought it went perfectly with the pins.

This isn't all of them, but its a collection of the ones that meant the most to me.

Oh, the fence pin opens, and bugs bunny is inside. I got him on our big disney world/universal studios trip when i was little.

The telephone's my favorite! Smiley

So I hope someone gets some good crafty inspiration from my simple and sappy little project!

Great looking collection and a good way to display them.  I like your fence and your peacock.  Nice job.

I think this is a great idea.

I must do this! I collect vintage flower brooches. I think it would be fun to do a flower themed one.

I wanted to do something similar with just the flower brooches, but decided against it since mine were so diverse. I was going to embroider flower stems and pin them at the top. I think it would look sweet!
