I made this cake for my brother's wedding.  He works for Norfolk Southern Railway and wanted a train for his grooms cake.  I used the Nordic Ware Train Cupcake Pan which is way, way detailed!  I ended up just slopping icing all over the pieces, making them almost a ball shape, and then meticulously carving the details out.  Yea, it took as long as it sounds!!  The track is made of 3 loaf pan size cakes, one right behind the other, and the whole thing is butter cream icing.  The colors of the actual cake aren't as bright (or neon) as they appear in this picture.  I couldn't get the lighting right  Wink

I finished this thing up in my Bridesmaid dress just before pictures started!!   Cheesy  Wouldn't be me if it wasn't last minute!  He loved it and I hope you do, too!!

Wow, that's really cool!  I can almost hear the train whistle now . . .

Wow! No wonder he loved it, this is totally awesome! What flavor was the cake itself?

The train cars were dark chocolate and the base was plain ole yellow!
