Our newest arrival will soon be here and along with the travel bag I posted recently, I wanted to make a messenger bag to fit my laptop, some reading material, baby book, etc...I wanted a zipper pocket divider on the inside, which meant I needed to use the jordy style for the lining, but I wanted a gusset style for the outside.  So, I put the two together, this is what I came up with.

I added a flat pocket to the back of the bag for magazines in particular, but whatever floats ur boat. Smiley

And my favorite part of the bag is this buckle.  It once belonged to my grandma who passed away 13 years ago.  My Mom went through her things and found some sewing notions that had belonged to grandma...and gave them to me since Mom doesn't sew much.  I've been saving this buckle for the right bag, and here it is!

I've posted more pictures on my blog and the description is a bit more detailed.  Thanks for looking and I hope You enjoyed it!

You are going to be the most fashionable person at that hospital with the cute bags you're making!
Great story behind the buckle, and best of luck!

This is so cute! I love the fabric/lining combo and the buckle just makes the bag! Your construction looks perfect.
