Dice Wristlet (3 imgs)

I made this this weekend. It's made out of felt and bias tape and has a zipper. I made sure the sides were all the same as on an actual die. I think it would be cute to go as Lady Luck for Halloween or go to Vegas and use this as an accessory.

Probably not too bad. It would require patience though.

I just love this! I'm already planning in my head to make one. I LOVE FELT. And yes, its wonderful because it doesn't fray.


Just one question though. How does it keep it's shape when you have your stuff in there and it's hanging on your wrist? How does it not collapse?

I haven't used it personally, but it doesn't really keep it's shape when it has stuff in it. I like it that way, though, cause it makes it more abstract and easier to store/send. If you plan on making one, I would say try interfacing or even perhaps some sort of wire in the seam allowances to help keep its shape.

I've never made a 20-sided one (I actually had to google "20-sided die" because I wasn't even sure I'd actually ever seen one!), but I would say start out just sewing the triangles in pairs, and then think about/draw out how a 20-sided die would look if it was taken apart and layed down completely flat. Also, if you're doing a 5/8 seam, make sure you leave 5/8 at either side of the triangle's corners to keep the corners looking neat once it's all sewed up.

I don't know how clear that all was, but I hope it helps! Good luck!

I grew up in a house of gamers so 20 sided dice are natural to me. Also thanks for this because I know what a D20 looks like flat (I made one out of tape XD) and it does help a lot so I'll try to do it and post it up.
