ok, hopefully this photo will show up. I realize it's one of the worst pictures ever, but it will have to do for now.
So I started off crocheting a scarf with some thick ole wool yarn. Got bored. Folded it up and stitched up the sides. Made a wooden bead strand for a handle and stitched on a little wood bead as a button to close it up. Found some scrap felt and stitched on a little heart. It's kinda teeny, but it's cute!
I have knit and crocheted a few others as well...I will try to add some good dig pics later......

Ohmygod! Could that be any cuter? I just made a tiny little purse the same style and love it. How did you attatch a bead/button for closure on the front, it's hard to tell on the picture.

joey-
I just used a little wooden bead that had two holes in it - sewed in on like a button to the front  side of the purse. then because the crochet stitch isn't too tight, I am able to just pull over the top flap and the button bead closure slips right into a little hole/gap. The pic is really bad - I know. Eventually I will get a better one on here!
