This is my first ever crochet.

i put 'how to crochet a beret' into youtube. i got the threadbanger video but couldnt understand it at all.all i knew was that they wanted increases followed by single crocet at first, then lots of increases, then lots of single crochet, then some decreases.

I got out a notebook, took some rough numbers from various patterns and worked out where to put the increases so it was equal etc.

It took about 3 or 4 hours(i watched pulp fiction and some spaced as i worked)

on my desk

on my head

from above

after finishing i put some single crochet rows on but it was too small for my head Sad
to fix this i unravelled the single crochet and just put the one row in so it still had some stretch

thanks for looking!

a big wooden one."

I'm actually crocheting the threadbanger hat at the moment too! Its my first hat but i found a link on their forums that had her pattern explained and it helped a quite a bit. Its really a simple hat and I had to increase a few more rows than her because my yarn was smaller. Other wise i'm not sure it would fit my head. But give me a half hour and mine'll be finished!

I made the threadbanger hat too. It is simple. I wrote it down. If somebody wants the pattern, just let me know.

You made a great job for a first hat. Smiley
